Profits up at 888.com Casino
8th May, 2008
The parent company of 888.com Casino has issued its first quarter income report, notching up 38 per cent year-on-year growth.
888 Holdings took net gaming revenue of $64 million (£33 million) in Q1 2008, dramatically up on the $47 million taken during the same period last year.
That figure included a 35 per cent rise in net revenues from its internet-based casino gambling facilities - up to $35 million - and a more modest five per cent spike in poker revenue to $22 million.
Alluding to the online casino's ongoing diversification efforts - which include the launch of betting website 888sport - chief executive Gigi Levy said that the group's expansion was yielding positive results.
He commented: "Our various business initiatives are progressing well and we are therefore confident in delivering future growth during 2008."
The company also recently branched out into a number of land-based enterprises, including the UK-based Rileys Snooker Halls.
